Waterrock Knob in Smokey Mountain National Park

Still trying to figure out cropping pictures in these stories… but you have got to visit this breathtaking spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We take the entrance closest to Waynesville, NC and turn right. In the winter, with the leaves on the ground, you can easily spot waterfalls along the way from several pull-off lookouts. Once you arrive at the knob area, there are picnic tables and a well-maintained trail to the summit. It is steep but my knights walked the whole thing. The youngest knight cried almost the whole time, but he walked all but the last couple hundred feet. Normally there are bathrooms and a ranger station/gift shop, but they have been closed since the COVID shut-down. The views from the parking lot, the trail, and the summit are beautiful. Even as young as my guys are, they appreciate the beauty. Grab a bucket of chicken, a hat, and jacket. Do not miss this hidden gem!
