Shell Point Beach, Florida

ShellPoint has a few covered pavilions. The largest one, pictured, can be reserved.

First, if you were loving the story format, I apologize. My phone has decided it does not like them. Secondly I have to tell you that I hesitate to share about this favorite spot of ours because it is a beautiful secret and I love the natural grasses and uncrowded spaces. Shell Point is a little gem on the Forgotten Coast. It boasts beautiful sand but also tiny crabs, flocks of pelicans, and beach volleyball. There are outdoor showers and accessible restrooms. The water is shallow several feet out, so it’s the perfect place for little ones or those who are not confident in their swimming abilities.

We also love the pirate ship playground here and the food trucks, though I heard a rumor they won’t be having any for a while.

So if you are traveling on Highway 98 in the panhandle of Florida or your in Tallahassee looking for a nearby beach with personality, check out She’ll Point… just don’t tell everybody.
