Cross Out the Lie, Write the Truth

Cross out the lie. Write the truth.

I’ve recently started using Noom. That’s a whole other post. One of the activities was to right down a lie you have believed about yourself or your relationship to food and exercise and cross it out. This immediately drew me in and made me think about other lies I have believed throughout my life.

What lies have you believed? About who you are? About who God is?

Then you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.

John 8:32 NIV

As you study God’s word and find beliefs rooted in lies, I encourage you to write them down and cross them out. Next write out the truth you need to replace the lie with. For me, this sometimes means fasting from social media, putting scripture on my mirrors, listening to the cds of basic truth I play for my children…

Lie- God is just waiting for me to mess up.

Truth- God sings songs over me. God loves me while I am yet a sinner, so much that he sent Jesus to die for me.

God, I pray that the person reading this would know that they are loved by you, beyond belief. Reveal the lies they have believed and replace them with your truth, that they may walk in freedom! Amen.
